In September 2011, the Association Board completed it's work to update the Oakland Drive/Winchell Neighborhood Association Constitution. The Constitution was written in 1973 and has served the Association well for almost 40 years. But as time has passed, technology has enabled us to have much more instantaneous, efficient (and inexpensive) two-way communication with each other. Consequently, it was felt that the Association’s constitution should be reviewed and updated to not just reflect the times, but to give the Association the tools to better serve its membership.
The specific reasons for this update were to: 1. Allow the Association to be more inclusive in its membership 2. Update the Dues and Fiscal Year sections to allow more flexibility, not just in dues but to allow more members “instant” voting eligibility 3. Update Board elections, including: nominating, membership notification, voting and election procedures 4. Establish more specific requirements of those who serve on the Board 5. More specifically define the geographic boundaries of the Association 6. Update constitutional amendment procedures 7. Correct grammatical errors
In November 2011, the voting members of the ODWNA approved the board-revised constitution. By clicking the link below, you will be able to access, read and download a copy of the current Oakland Drive/Winchell Neighborhood Association constitution.
